Michal’s Tefillin has big dreams. Huge dreams. This magazine is dedicated to seeking out and promoting talented Jewish women, from all walks of life, anywhere in the world. We want to help create a fund for those women who are struggling in life, whether through lack of financial or educational opportunities, whether they want to be writers, photographers, musicians, film makers, actors, journalists, artists, fashion or jewellery designers.
Also, in keeping with the Jewish tradition of tzedekah (charity), ten per cent of all annual donations to Michal’s Tefillin will be sent to The Elem Dinner Club, an Israeli charity that helps homeless and abused teenagers who live on the streets. It is shocking to a lot of Jews that families can throw their children to the wolves and deny them love, food and shelter, the three things in life that keep us going.
Currently, over 300,000 Israeli youth are living at various levels of risk. This is your chance to help them cope with their challenges, and become productive citizens, contributing to society and the nation as a whole. Ask yourselves what it could mean for the future generation of Israelis if once a month, instead of spending our money to eat at a restaurant, we donate that money to children at risk.
